The Gym and Hockey Changerooms were built during the winter in a remote northern First Nations community. Due to challenging weather, remote location, and permafrost conditions, concrete was not an option, therefore the CLT building’s foundation was designed using an adjustable aluminum grid frame. This project is a good example of JCA’s capacity to coordinate a manufactured and containerized delivery system for a complete building package shipped to site and assembled in place. A consultation process was established with both First Nations Corporation and Council to ensure timely decision making and open communications.
