JCA is a boutique architectural firm that specializes in both large-scale urban and rural projects in British Columbia, Yukon, Alberta and Washington. Our design strategies explore sustainable options and creative resource management.
Our team of professionals, extensive experience and clients have helped shape and define our approach to design and project delivery. Principal of JCA and member of AIBC, AIA and AAA, John Clark’s architectural experience spans over thirty years, having completed over 70 projects in excess of 6.2 million square feet.
JCA has worked with diverse clients including school committees, developers, volunteers, planners, clergy and First Nations. Working with diverse clients requires expertise in organizing and simplifying design data, analysis and project administration.
At JCA we pursue and promote visible forms of expression balanced by thoughtful design rationale. Our success is the result of listening to our client’s needs, satisfying their design expectations, developing functional planning and achieving their projects technical and fiscal objectives.

All JCA projects are executed using an Integrated BIM (Building Information Model) strategy that creates intelligent 3D building models. Our BIM strategy amalgamates the architects, consultants and engineers into one master file moving the project forward as a collective through a private cloud network, enabling instantaneous collaboration and the ability to correct potential problems quickly and efficiently. BIM also allows JCA to provide detailed cost analysis in real time including budgets and estimates.
Our virtual process allows the JCA team to meet with consultants, engineers and our clients as often as needed. All virtual meetings are recorded and posted to a shared site, allowing the client to monitor or participate in the consulting process. Our coordination time is much faster than a traditional office and our clients are engaged throughout the project.
